The Flying Albino Psychedelic Squid - FAPS (2022)

Branden had fun combining sewing, 3D printing, and LEDs into this simple but ridiculously fun piece. FAPs is essentially a custom made windsock with a 3D printed “crown” that contains addressable RGB LEDs. The power and data for those LEDs travel through multiple slip rings down to an ESP32 controller running WLED down at the base of a long, lightweight, extendible pole.

The end result is a 5’ long squid-like creature you can swing around as it pulses with colorful light that reacts to any nearby music. It’s hard to put it down!
