Luna Moth Wings (2011)

When Branden decided to take his wife Patti to Burning Man for their 10th anniversary in 2011, he knew he wanted to make her a special costume piece to wear at night. He had just learned about electro-luminscent (EL) wire and decided to learn how to use the stuff and make wings for Patti to wear.

The design is based on the Luna Moth and he's since created over half a dozen pairs for friends and family. If you're like to make your own pair Branden wrote up a full tutorial for AdaFruit, including a pattern for the wings.
